Ms. Treu comes to Causey & Howard with experience primarily in family law, having worked at Litvak Litvak Mehrtens Epstein and Carlton, P.C., one of Denver’s premiere family law firms from 1998 through 2008. She has experience in divorce, paternity, child support, relocation, prenuptial agreements, dependency and neglect and appellate proceedings and has served as both attorney and mediator. She co-authored “Parental Rights and Responsibilities of Grandparents and Third Parties,” published in the Colorado Lawyer in May 2001. Before moving to Colorado in 1998, she lived in California where she worked in legal areas as varied as insurance defense and the film industry.
Ms. Treu attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Telecommunications with a minor in Business Administration in 1992. She continued at Pepperdine University School of Law, obtaining her juris doctorate, cum laude in 1997. She also received a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine’s Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution. She attended high school at Culver Academies in Culver, Indiana.

Ms. Treu has lived in the Vail Valley since 2001. In her free time, she enjoys running, skiing, playing hockey and tennis and camping with her family.
